about

I’m Carl — a photographer with a love for analogue film and the nostalgic beauty it brings to every frame. Since picking up my first film camera in 2017, I’ve been chasing light, mood, and the subtle imperfections that make each image feel timeless.

My background in philosophy and arts pedagogy deeply influences the way I see and think about photography. I’m currently preparing to dive into a PhD on the philosophy of photography, exploring how images shape our understanding of the world.

Most of my work revolves around portraits, though I shoot whatever catches my eye — fleeting moments, textures, and places that tell quiet stories. Since 2023, I’ve also been leading analogue photography tours through Berlin (in collaboration with Konfetti), sharing my passion for film photography with others who love slowing down and shooting with intention.

Alongside my own projects, I occasionally work with Messe Berlin as a photography assistant and editor, where I get to engage with the craft from a different angle.

For me, photography is a way to connect — with people, places, and time itself — one frame at a time.
